Research lines: Quantum algorithms and complexity and Quantum simulation and few-qubit applications
Supervisor: Harry Buhrman
Tom Bannink received a double bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics at Utrecht University (2013) and a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics (2015). In September 2015 he started his PhD research at QuSoft on Quantum Random Walks, under the supervision of Prof.dr. Harry Buhrman and Prof.dr. Frank den Hollander.
Tom’s research is on Quantum Walks, a quantum analogue of classical random walks. He is interested in the algorithmic applications of quantum walks, and tries to establish when quantum walks can provide computational speedups.
