Research line: Quantum simulation and few-qubit applications
Supervisor: Florian Schreck
Sergey Pyatchenkov started with a bachelor project on spectroscopic studies of cold Rb atoms at Lebedev Physical Institute in Moscow. For his master project he participated in building a machine for quantum simulation using ultracold Tm atoms at Russian Quantum Center in Moscow. He joined Prof. Florian Schreck’s group in University of Amsterdam in October 2015.
The focus of his research interests is quantum simulation of condensed matter models using ultracold quantum gases. The main direction of his research is the creation of a quantum gas microscope for studying topological states in a highly controlled environment.
