Research line: Strong-correlation in quantum matter and quantum computing
Before coming to Amsterdam in 2010, Paola Gori-Giorgi obtained her PhD from the University of Perugia, Italy (2000), held postdoctoral positions in Rome (Italy), Tulane University (USA) and in Paris, where she was appointed as permanent CNRS researcher in 2005. At the Vrije Universiteit she became full professor (University Research Chair) of Theoretical and Mathematical Chemistry in 2016. She has been awarded several prestigious grants (such as the ERC Consolidator grant and the NWO Vidi and Vici) and the Aspasia prize for excellent female academics.
