Professor at VU
Before coming to Amsterdam in 1998, Lucas Visscher obtained his PhD from the University of Groningen (1993), held postdoctoral positions at NASA Ames and at the University of Southern Denmark. At the Vrije Universiteit he became a full professor of Theoretical Chemistry in 2008. He was director of the Amsterdam Center for Multiscale Modeling from 2009 till 2015 during which period ACMM was established as one of nodes of the CECAM network. He was awarded the WATOC Dirac Medal in 2006 and is a member of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science since 2018.
