PhD candidate at UvA (IoP)
Email: B.A.vanVoorden at uva.nl
Research line: Quantum simulation and few-qubit applications
Supervisor: Kareljan Schoutens
Bart obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physics- and Astronomy and his Master’s degree in Physics, track Theoretical Physics, at the University of Amsterdam. In 2016 he started as a PhD candidate in the Condensed Matter Theory group of the Institute of Physics under the supervision of Kareljan Schoutens.
Bart’s research is in the area of Quantum Simulation. His main interest is the simulation of topological phases using synthetic gauge fields, realized by coupling the internal states of ultracold atoms. His research focuses on experiments of Florian Schreck’s research group.
