Current position: Postdoc at Quantum Gases group within the European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy
Research line: Quantum simulation and few-qubit applications
Supervisor: Florian Schreck
Alessio Ciamei is a PhD student in the group of Prof. Florian Schreck (University of Amsterdam, IOP), where he works in the RbSr team. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physics and his Master’s degree in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. He conducted his Master’s research on experimental photonic quantum simulation in the Quantum Optics Group of Rome led by Prof. Paolo Mataloni. The goal of his current research is to create a quantum gas of ground-state RbSr molecules, which, thanks to their electric and magnetic dipole moments, can allow for novel quantum simulation experiments.
The research interests of Alessio Ciamei are the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Information. The goal of my PhD research is the creation of a quantum gas of ground-state RbSr molecules to be used as a new platform for quantum simulation experiments.
